معز البور الجنوب افريقى Boer Goats
ومن مسمياته ايضا افريكانر او الجنوب افريقي و يعتبر من سلالات الماعز الافريقية المحلية التى تم خلطها بسلالات اوروبيه والماعز الهندي عقودا من الزمن و كثير من الباحثيين يؤيدون فكرة ان الماعز الاصلى موطنه اتى عن طريق قبائل نماكاو هوتنتوس و قبيلة البانتو المهاجره وعموما فانها نشأت في جنوب أفريقيا, ومنها تم انتشارها إلي استراليا وأمريكا متأقلمة مع الظروف البيئية المختلفة. و هي تمتازبالمق اومة العالية للأمراض والتأقلم على عدة مناخات ومناطق في العالم والمعز البور تربي أساساً لإنتاج اللحم, ويوجد منها5 سلالات أفضلها البور المحسن (موجودة في مصر في محطة البحوث التابعة لقسم الانتاج الحيوانى بالمركز القومى للبحوث) وهي أكثرمناسبة لإنتاج اللحم ,صفات اللحم جيدة وسريعة النموتعطي الذكور250ج م/يوم والعنزات18 6جم/يوم عندعمر270ي وم, وتعطي أعلي نسبة خصوبة حيث تشيع العنزات كل18 - 21يوم لمدة37.4 ساعة في المتوسط وتنتج50% من العنزات توائم و15% منها ثلاثة جديان, تصل الأنثى إلي البلوغ الجنسي عندعمر6شهو رذكورعند5 - 6شهورويمكن ها تلقيح الإناث عند وزن32كجم وتعتبرهذه الماعز أفضل سلالات انتاج اللحم على مستوى العالم.
وهي متناسقة التكوين والألوان وغالباً بيضاء اللون ذات رأس ورقبة بنية اللون, منها الابيض الخالص والاسود الخالص وعديمةالقر ون وثقيلة الوزن, يصل وزن التيس90 - 120كجم والعنزة80 - 90كجم و إنتاجها من اللبن يكفي نتاجها ويصل1.800 - 2.500كجم في اليوم وتصل قمة موسم الحليبب عدالولادة بـ 6 -8أسابيع و يبلغ نسبة التصافي للحوم من 40% للوزن الحي 10 كجم إلى 52،4% عند وزن 41 كجم ويحقق الجديان متوسط زيادة يومية في الوزن تبلغ 0.94 رطل عندما يغذى على العلف المركز و0.4 - 0.6 رطل في اليوم عندما يربى في المرعى من الولادة إلى الفطام
