* Write an essay of about 20 lines on one of the following topics :
1- Some people say that the best preparatio n for life is learning to work with others and be co-operative. Others say that learning to be competitiv e is the best preparatio n. Which one do you agree with? Why?

2- We have much more leisure now than people had fifty years ago. What effect does this great leisure have on our activities ? (ث. ع 1992)
3- Education as a human , national and long-term investment can change the future of Egypt. Discuss.

4- The natural resources of the earth should be conserved and the environmen t protected. However, it is thought that industrial ization is the best support for the growth in population in the world – even if it were at the expense of spoiling the environmen t. (1994)
5- Optimists and pessimists view the future of the world in two different ways. Optimists think that man will enjoy a much more comfortabl e life while pessimists think that man is doomed. Which view do you support and why ? (1995)
6- Many towns today have large areas of slums which consist of badly-built, dirty and crowded houses. The people living there lead a hard, miserable life and some of them are law –breakers. Discuss the problem, showing how it can be solved. (1996)
