ينظر بعض التربويين إلى تكنولوجيا التعليم على أنها مجرد استخدام مجموعة من الأجهزة والادوات والمعدات في التدريس ومثل هؤلاء لا يدركون ان تكنولوجيا التعليم لها استخدام ابعد من ذلك حيث ينظر إليها على أنها طريقة منهجية في التفكير وأسلوب منظم في العمل يتناول جميع العناصر العملية التعليمية.
** المناهج المبرمجة Programmed curricula
تقوم المناهج المبرمجة على تنظيم المحتوى الدراسي في شكل خطوات ومعلومات متسلسلة صغيرة جدا كما في البرمجة الأفقية أو المتنوعة حسب طبيعة المعارف التي يقوم البرنامج كما فى البرمجة المتشعبة والالكترون ية ومهما اختلف طول الخطوات التي تتبناها هذه المناهج فإنها تطلب من المتعلمين إتباع مسارات محددة خلال التعلم لا يحيدون عنها إلا بنجاحهم فى تعلم المادة المبرمجة هذا وتوجد المبرمجة فى ثلاثة أنواع وهى 1- البرامج الأفقية 2- البرامج المتشعبة 3- البرامج الالكتروني ة القائمة على استخدام الكومبيوتر
